Young Artists Day

May 30, 2026

On Saturday, May 30th, we were honored to present a Young Artists Day at Faraway Farm Alpacas in collaboration with Music Matters Lab. Students presented a nature themed program on the theme of Seed to Bloom. Afterwards, students visited the animals and learned about the sustainability initiatives at the farm. The day ended with a discussion about what the garden can teach us as musicians and a planting activity.

SEED

May 31, 2026

The weekend closed with a sold-out piano trio performance featuring Sharon Gayoung Cho, violin, WanYi Pan, cello, and Kathryn Felt, piano. The concert took place in The Barn at Faraway Farm Alpacas. The program explored the first stage of growth and included the premiere of Angelique Mouyis's How to Breathe from The Trees Speak for piano trio. It was incredibly special to perform this program amid farm tools, hay bales, flowers, birdsong, and a large gable window opening onto the trees and sky. We gifted seed packets and compost coins to audience members with the hope that they will cultivate growth in their own gardens and communities. What a magical day!
